Twilighting

If you’re looking for a unique way to add fresh color to your hair, come to Salon Antoine! We are always seeking out the latest trends for both cut and color, helping you achieve the confidence that comes with a style you love. Gold twighlighting is one of the latest trends to emerge in our salon, so keep reading to learn more.

Although it may initially bring to mind a popular book and movie series, twlighting is actually more reminiscent of the small outdoor lights that often decorate patio restaurants. Often referred to as twinkle lights, they are a great description for the small bursts of golden color that make this coloring option unique. Our stylists will combine several techniques, including babylights and ombre to create a multi-dimensional look. The color will dispersed throughout the length of the hair, concentrating mainly on the lower half. Whereas traditional lowlights or balayage use longer sections of colored hair that blends with your natural color, twlights use thin, short sections.

For maximum effect, we recommend twighlighting for customers with medium to dark hair color. Depending on the shade our experience colorists will choose a golden hue several shades lighter to create a luminescent glow. This is a great option for those with curly hair, especially thicker textures that can show off numerous small sections of color. Wavy hair customers can also rock this trend, as well as those who often use a curling iron or straightener to add curls or waves as part of their regular routine. If you have any questions about twighlighting and your hair’s natural texture or color, we would be happy to tell you more.

As we mentioned above, twlighting is low maintenance since little or no color is placed on the roots. It’s also helpful if you’re looking to lessen the amount of coloring to heal over damaged hair or if you simply want a low commitment way to test out lightening.  We do suggest keeping up with regular trims to keep volume high and dead ends to a minimum. If this is your first time coloring your hair, investing in a color-safe shampoo is important, especially to help keep the golden twighlights from becoming brassy. When you’re ready to embrace something different, our stylists can easily add more color for traditional lowlights.
