Spring 2017 Hair Trends
Keeping up with the ever-changing trend world isn’t easy, which is where we at Salon Antoine in Fairfax, VA, come into play. We live for latest style updates and the seasonal shows – we feed off of it. That being said, we have the latest Spring 2017 hair trends lined and ready for you to assess. We’re armed and ready to create any of the popular looks popping up on the runway – as well as anything else that pops into your mind (or on your Pinterest!)
We spend a lot of time ogling models on the runways, and this is one of the vibes we frequently get: this devil-may-care hairstyle that we can totally get behind. It reared its head in several different forms, but it’s definitely ever-present. The “chill surfer” is one of the easiest looks to achieve considering it’s all about just letting your hair do its thang. Lived-in waves and a bit of texturing paste are all you really need to achieve this casual, cool look. On the Coach 1941 and Baja East runways, they displayed a throwback grunge look that involves forgoing frequent shampooing – less showers, more style is a mantra we’d all be happy to adopt. Using mousse, natural accumulating oils, and a little bit of tweaking the ends with a flat iron, and your grunge locks are ready for their debut.
It always happens this way. The moment one look debuts on the runways, it’s a surefire guarantee that a look directly oppositional to the first one will dominate the other half of the shows. For Brandon Maxwell and Caroline Herrera, for instance, sleek and slicked back was their go-to. Their minimalistic styles involved the use of straight irons and classic easy-to-do styles from a flawless high ponytail to subdued twists at the back of their models’ heads. This every-day ready look is perfect for just about any occasion, so why not take a leaf out of these designers’ books!
We all like mixing and combining words to find something that sounds just right, and we have to admit that “blorange” is a bit of an interesting concoction of the words “blonde” and “orange,” but the actual trend is something we can certainly back. Merging yellow-gold tones with ginger is an interesting decision, but it honestly could not be prettier – or on-point for 2017. The other totally new trend for this calendar year is called eclipting and it’s tamer than blorange – but just as gorgeous. Eclipting involves dying your hair one solid, darker color and then piecing through the hair so you can highlight specific zones to enhance the shape of the hair, as well as do some double-duty when it comes to face-framing.
