Pumpkin spice season is giving way to more of a chestnut praline flavor, but that doesn’t mean that there has to be anything dull about your looks – especially not your hair! Terra Cotta Red
We’re big fans of red here, and thoroughly convinced that there’s an enticing shade of red for every season. For winter, we’re recommending Terra Cotta Red, a heartier version of this stunning color. A light brownish red, this shade is perfect for adding a little spark to the blankets of snow we’re about to get! As with any red, though, it does take some upkeep to keep that reddish hue shining through – color shampoos, cold showers, and color protectants are a must-have for this look!

Snow Queen White-Grey
We at Salon Antoine in Fairfax, VA, understand the desire to mimic the season, especially in a dramatic way. We’re big fans. That being said, we want to preface this by saying that not everyone can achieve the white-gray hair trend at the drop of a hat. This can take planning if your hair is pre-dyed, naturally dark, or not healthy. Now that we’ve given our disclaimers, we swoon over this color for winter. Give us a heads-up if this is the intention for your appointment so we can adequately prepare. Also, do your hair some favors by using conditioning masks, starting a couple weeks prior to your appointment. Let out your inner Snow Queen today with one of our highly-trained stylists!

Denial Blonde, Natural Black
We all cope with the onset of winter in different ways, and both colors are in-vogue this season. Opt for darker roots and balayage some blond for that surfer girl look even during sub-zero temperatures, and you’ll be the ray of sunshine we all need in the depths of winter. On the flipside, you can embrace the lack the sunlight (thanks Daylight Savings Time) and take on a natural black. Timeless, chic, and endlessly refined, you’ll see many celebrities rocking this look year-round. Put down the jet-colored dye, and choose something softer this winter.
