Wash Less
First and foremost, it doesn’t matter if you’re a blonde, brunette, or redhead, you shouldn’t be washing your hair every day. We advise that all of our color clients to try their best to put on a shower cap and lather up their locks every other day. This prevents dryness and damage from occurring, keeping your hair healthy and ready for your next appointment. Of course, if you’re a blonde, this is of utmost importance, because of the bleach used to get your hair to your acquired color. More often than not, we also throw a toner on blondes to omit some of those orangey tones, so if you’re washing your hair all the time, the toner can fade rather quickly. We recommend using a dry shampoo between washes to omit oil and to keep your hair fresh. You’ll also get the benefit of added volume, depending on the dry shampoo you decide to go with!
Blonde Specific Shampoos & Conditioners
When you’re ready to wash your blonde strands, we suggest using lukewarm to cool water, since warm or hot water tends to make your color fade. Additionally, using a color-specific shampoo and conditioner plays a big part in maintaining your desired look. There are several different options out there, but purple shampoo and conditioner seem to be the most popular, since they deposit cool tones into your blonde hair, abolishing brass!
