Enliven Your Locks!

By May 19, 2020No Comments

Most of us crave volume and dimension when it comes to our hair, so we here at Salon Antoine are about to share some of our favorite haircuts, tips, and tricks that will ultimately give you that fuller look you’ve been wanting. After you’ve given our article a read-through, pick up the phone and call us to schedule an appointment. We are open Monday through Saturday and hope to see you soon!

The Shag Cut

One haircut you might consider that’s sure to put life back into your strands is the shag. Think Taylor Swift, Julianne Hough, and Emma Stone. They’re all walking around with this beautiful style, which includes layers of all lengths and choppy ends with a lot of texture that instantly take your hair from one-dimensional to multidimensional and head-turning. This haircut works on all texture types and looks beautiful whether you currently have short or long hair. It was very popular in the 1990’s. Remember Jennifer Aniston’s haircut in the early episodes of Friends? It created so much buzz that it stuck around for many years. It will definitely create movement in your hair and even more so when you put in some waves or curls. And if you choose a length that meets at your shoulders and don’t overstyle it, you’ll have all eyes on you!

Timeless Bob & Lob

Another haircut you can decide to go with that graced us years before the shag was the bob cut. There are all types of bob haircuts that add volume to your strands—the stacked bob, asymmetrical bob, inverted bob—just to name a few. This style is usually above your shoulders, cut around the head, and gets gradually longer right near your jawline. While it automatically creates dimension from the cut alone, you can decide to pair some layers in the back, or put some subtle waves in yourself at home. However, if you don’t want to go as short as the bob, opt for the lob. As you may have guessed, this style is a bit longer than the bob, but nevertheless gives your hair that full look. If you can’t decide if you’d like to keep your locks long or chop them fairly short, this is the cut to opt for. It’s very versatile and works well with all face shapes, so you can’t go wrong.

Layers & Bangs

When you want to stick with the current length of your hair, but simply want richness, get some layers. Whether you decide on longer layers or shorter ones, you’re bound to get the look that you’ve been craving. Take things a step further with your layers by adding some highlights to make each pop, or maybe even go with the ombre. Another option once you’ve gotten layers is to add bangs. From blunt, to baby, to side-swept bangs, there are so many options that will add to your texture and style. They’re so powerful that they can reinvent your whole look. When you want to show off those thick, gorgeous brows, pin the bangs back. At other times, just let them down and you’ll end up stunningly showing off the frame of your face and drawing attention to your eyes. Your favorite Hollywood starlets are strutting around with bangs, and so can you!

Now that you know some ways that you can get the thickness back in your locks, visit us at Salon Antoine and let us pamper you with a style that was hand-made for you. Our salon can be found at 11092 Lee Highway in Fairfax, VA, and we would love to meet you soon. Stop by later today!
